Description: The 3rd International Action will be launched on Sunday 07 March in Cape Town. The event will also celebrate the 100th anniversary of the declaration of International Women’s Day. Participating grassroots organisations will be holding round table discussions on the struggles facing women in their sector. Some of the topics that will be discussed: Women’s access to land, water, housing and agricultural support; The crisis; Job losses & unemployment; Violence against women, etc.
The afternoon’s programme will be in solidarity with the domestic workers and in support of the International ILO Convention on Domestic Workers that demands respect and rights for domestic workers internationally.

March until October, the South African WMW will be supporting and building on member organisations’ campaigns based on the WMW Action Areas. A further proposal is to host a seminar on the history and significance of International Women’s Day.
9th August, South Africa National Women’s Day
A march is being discussed.
